Dr. Thomas Rau studied foreign policy at the Institute of International Relations in Potsdam, resulting in his doctorate in 1984 in the field of international economic relations.
Until 1988 he worked at the United Nations Secretariat in New York in the Department of International Economic and Social Affairs on the preparation of the annual World Economic Surveys and other strategic documents.
After 15 years as a senior consultant and trainer with a focus on project management, SAP implementation, business analysis and plans, investment and profitability calculations, studies, organizational analyzes and IT analyzes and strategies, he started working as a project manager at the RKW Berlin GmbH, rationalization and innovation center in 2005.
At the RKW his work focuses on international projects and the elaboration of requirements for quality management systems in the field of education, training as well as the management of the approval body for the PAS 1037: 2004 standard.
Besides his work as Chairman of the ISO committee “Learning services for non-formal education and training” (ISO / 232), he is chairman of the DIN Working Committee “educational services” (NA 159-02-04 AA) and a member of the Advisory Board of the Standards Committee Services (NADL).
